These pictures were taken on the occasion of Lee Greenwood's' Patriotic Review at Silver Springs, Florida on March 27, 2004. He dedicated his closing song "God Bless the USA" to Doris' Brother, Ssgt Jerry G. Bridges whose Chinook helicopter was reported missing in October 1968 and wasn't found until 1995, 27 years later. The remains of the five crew members were returned to the USA and those that weren't specifically identified were given a military funeral (Horse drawn caisson) at Arlington, VA on Memorial Day, 2001. Jerry's remains that were identified by Doris' DNA was given a military funeral in Tennessee in June of 2001. Lee Greenwood was asked permission to use his song "God Bless The USA" at the funeral services. He gave his permission and also said that he would be honored to have been able to come and sing it in person but had a prior commitment. Doris wrote a letter and reminded him of her brothers funeral and his permission to use his song and sent it back stage prior to the show. The picture with Doris' hands over her face was taken at the moment Lee dedicated the closing song to her brother. The other picture was taken a few minutes before.
